Sunscreen

I didn’t really appreciate Tia going to her Zumba class this morning. I tried to tell her that I would rather her take me for a ride in the car and feed me treats. In the heat of the moment, to show my disdain, I pooped on the floor in the bedroom. Looking back on it, I should have just chewed on a shoe or knocked over the garbage can, but what is done is done. Needless to say I got a stern talking to and Tia was none too pleased about cleaning it up. She seemed to warm back up to me after a while…with help from my extra cute poses on the bed. I also shared my duck toy with her. Who can resist a stinky, fuzzy, squeaky duck toy?
Dave was out in the field all day yesterday and can home smelling like dirt, sweat, and gunpowder….ahhh. However, despite the distinct scent of a good time emanated from his combat boots; he made a fatal mistake. He forgot to wear sunscreen!!! This is a big no no in our house because Tia is obsessed with making sure that they both wear sunscreen when they go outside. Dave told me it’s because she wouldn’t be able to function if she couldn’t tell him what to do but I think it’s because she loves him. Silly Dave, she just doesn’t want him to get this thing called “mel-uh-noh-mah”. Tia always uses that big word when she’s “gently reminding” him to put on sunscreen every morning.  Anyway, his neck and face is really red…but I don’t think he’ll forget his sunscreen again.
My napping has been interrupted by Tia has practicing German. She gets really excited sometimes and starts saying things over and over. I think she’s getting pretty good because her sentences keep getting longer and she sometimes points to things on the TV or in the house and says something in German. I just wish she’d go in the other room or something so I can nap in peace on the couch. Between her yakking and Dave’s video games, I can hardly get a wink of sleep in the living room. Sigh. I guess I’ll have to start shoving Dave’s gear off the guest room bed and start nesting in there. It’s comfy enough.
What isn’t that comfy looking is this new box thing that has appeared in the living room. Tia said that it is what I will ride in to Germany. She also mentioned something about fitting under the seat, extra Benadryl, and holding it in for 16 hours! Tia and Dave keep throwing treats and toys in there but I try as quick as possible to slink in and rush out before something bad happens. Nothing bad ever happens but I just don’t trust this box thing. I’ll keep you updated if my attitude changes about the box, but don’t count on it. It looks like torture.
Alright, it looks like there might be a crumb or two leftover from dinner on the kitchen floor that require my attention. I’ve got a long day of bird eradicating to do tomorrow while Tia practices German. Have a great day and don’t forget to support our troops and love your pets!
